The Acolytes' Guild

The Acolytes’ Guild was founded in 1892 to assist the clergy in performing the church's liturgy. Acolytes today continue to perform much the same duties they did over a century ago – acting as crucifers, torch-bearers and thurifers, and ministering the bread and wine to the celebrant at the Offertory of the Mass.

Guild members serve at the Solemn High Mass at 11 a.m. and at Solemn Evensong and Devotions at 7 p.m. on Sundays, as well as at special services throughout the year. In addition, members meet several times a year for social events and spiritual development.
