The Pastoral Care Committee

The Pastoral Care Committee serves as an important link between members of our parish family. We seek to assist parishioners needing extra help, attention, or prayers. The committee meets regularly to discuss, in strict confidentiality, specific pastoral needs of the congregation as well as general issues of pastoral care in the parish. Each of the members of the committee participates in the extension of care from the parish to those requiring assistance.

One of our initiatives has been the implementation of the Parish Cycle of Prayer, which ensures that each parishioner is prayed for by name at a weekday mass over the course of a year or two. We are also responsible for organizing certain events like the newcomers lunch, which is an opportunity to formally welcome those who have recently joined our parish family. We have also hosted other events, including a bus tour of lost Toronto churches and a tour of buildings by architect Eden Smith, with the aim of nurturing parish life and deepening the connections between parishioners. Much of our work is behind the scenes.
